I believe many people are starting to try to eat healthier now.  It used to be tougher for those people who used to have a hard time finding gift baskets for those that were more health conscious.

Not that there is anything wrong, with getting the traditional cheese, chocolate, or cookie gift baskets that many people get.  As a matter of fact, that will probably never go out of style.

But what about those times, when you want your gift to say, “enjoy, but stay on that diet of yours”?  For those, they can be really thankful for the popularity that has grown from health food gift baskets.

Health food sometimes has a negative connotation.  Many people think because its healthy, it means it tastes lousy and nothing could be further from the truth.

Actually, most health food gift baskets carry food such as sugar free cookies or baked (not fried) potato chips, so just because it has the word “health” on the title doesn’t meant that you can’t enjoy a good snack.

There are also many gift basket companies who have gotten in to organic foods.  For example, Givens & Company has wide variety of organic gift baskets, such as all organic nuts such almonds, cashews, California nuts, and many more.

You can find out more about them by going to the gift basket reviews page.

These kind of gift baskets are perfect for any kind of occasion. They could be a congratulations for finally getting a promotion at their job.  It could al be as simple as for a birthday or anniversary of some kind.

The main goal is to splurge for a loved one, but also keep it on the healthy side. It also never hurts to get a fruit gift basket.  These will never go out of style, as they have been around for many years now, and will continue to do so.

What Sites Deliver Health Food

It’s no secret that society is trying to eat healthier.  There are many organic supermarkets opening up nationwide.  Even vegan and vegetarian restaurants are becoming really popular.

What about the online world? Can you find many online food websites that cater to the more health conscious.  There aren’t as many as you see in the bricks and mortar world, but there are a certainly a few.

DineWise caters strictly to the health conscious public.  Dinewise is an online gourmet food restaurant which delivers healthy and nutritious meals to just about everywhere in the United States.

There goal is to provide perfectly proportional meals that maintain a healthy balance of nutrition.

They even have and entire category of food that is diabetic friendly.  The meals vary anywhere from steak, breakfast omelets, chicken flourentine, and so much more.

You can even prepare your on weight loss plan on some of their specific meals. They can send you a 7 days of food that are gained strictly for weight loss.   Most of the meals are a great mixture of fish and meat, with only one goal: to lose you weight.

They also specialize in many low carb meals, such as their Grilled Salmon Meal, which only has 15 grams of carbs.

They even cater to senior citizens and the strict diets they are on. The chefs specifically designed low sodium meals that fit perfectly with the senior lifestyle.

Health food isn’t only found in the gourmet food sites, but also in the beef sites.  For example, La Cense Beef only has 100% grass fed beef.

While most other outlets have get the beef from grain fed cattle, La Cense Beef guarantees that none of the beef has any antibiotics.

They are also much lower calories.  To give you an example, a 6 ounce steak that came from grass fed cattle has more than 100 fewer calories than most grain fed beef.

The beef also has twice as much of beta carotene than you would find on most steaks that you get from the supermarket.

So, you see there are plenty of online options for people who want to start eating healthier.

McDonalds Burger King Pizza Hut There are dozens of fast food chains in every part of the world, making it quite difficult for anyone to have a strict diet. Who would want a salad when they could easily have a large fry and an entire pizza? Unfortunately, the foods that taste the best are often the worst for your body. While we usually ignore this important fact, it is crucial that we at least try to consume nutritional food four days out of the week.

Since the health trend has spiked in most recent years, a myth has circulated across the globe. Most people feel that “nutritional food” – the types of products with an abundance of fiber, protein, and other vitamins, taste like the bottom of your toilet seat. Although many of these products do taste a bit bland, there are plenty that are delicious. It is just a matter of weeding out the disgusting foods and focusing on the ones that taste the best.

If you are trying your best to be healthy, it is essential to find foods that will treat your bodies well. Most grocery stores include products that have an “organic” symbol at the bottom of each box. This is great to look for, especially if you are searching for healthy alternatives. Once you have come across this symbol, you should try to find something high in fiber. For instance, Fiber One cereals or Kashi products are very high in the nutrients your body needs. Fortunately, they also taste amazing. Looking for something sweeter? Add a few berries to your cereal each morning.

Looking for wheat products is also key. Instead of buying Wonder bread, opt for whole grain or wheat. These types of products are much better for your bodies, and actually include the fiber that you should be getting. Not ready to give up all of the bagels and danishes? At least try buying the low fat wheat bagels, which barely taste any different. Add light cream cheese, and you are all set for a healthy breakfast.

Aside from organic foods and whole wheat bread, you should be taking nutritional supplements. While some people enjoy swallowing their daily vitamin, others like to be creative. Noni Juice is a popular favorite, as it is a natural fruit juice that does not have any extra preservatives. Looking for sweetness with all of the nutrients? Noni Juice is the perfect product, if that is what you are looking for. It not only boosts your immune system, but it gives you energy, and it fights off viruses that are trying to get you sick.

Health food is always going to somewhat have a negative connotation. After all, it never will be Pizza Hut or Burger King. However, these junk foods will by no means give you the nutrition that you desperately seek. By eating healthy foods and looking great, you will not only feel better about yourself, but you’ll have additional energy. It is a known fact that you will feel much different if you consume foods with fiber and nutrients. Once you start eating these types of groceries, chances are you’ll turn the other cheek to fast food chains.

…As I walked through the health food store the other day I couldn’t help but to laugh at how easily they trick the “health conscious” people into buying their so called “healthy food” when in reality they are buying potentially harmful food. Keep reading on as I explain.

Let me admit though that there was one good thing in the store and that was whole foods in their natural state. Other than that the rest of the store was filled with knockoffs of the original or highly processed foods covered in fancy health conscious labels. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw microwavable foods that claimed to be healthier than their whole food counterparts. Did they inject extra vitamins and minerals into the corn, peas and chicken? Or are they just manipulating FDA laws.

As sad as it is, the food labels have been tricking the public eye for years… and to be honest with you, 99% of the people will never know they are being tricked (of course since you’re reading this you won’t be in that 99% any more).

Below I will list a few examples of things to avoid:

Example #1: A product claiming to be “better than butter”.

I am sure you have seen this one before and questioned can it really be better than butter? If being full of deadly Trans fat and unnatural additives is better than butter then I guess the answer would be yes.

Don’t fall for it!

Butter itself is not all that healthy, for obvious reasons plus most butter contain pesticides and hormones from improperly raised cows. But with that being said, even low quality butter is going to be healthier than the margarine knockoffs of butter.

Some experts say that by adding natural organic butter over your steamed vegetable will help your body extract the essential vitamins from the veggies. On top of that margarine doesn?t cook as well as natural organic butter. If you don’t believe me than go ahead and spark the stove with two pans (one with butter and one with margarine) and let?s see which ingredient burns faster.

Example #2: Product claiming to be “better than eggs”.

Usually this “healthier egg” is found whipped up and wrapped in a cardboard box with the words EGG WHITES. If you’re eating egg whites hoping it will make you healthier than you are up for a rude awakening. I’m not going to go into great detail about how I know that egg whites are not as healthy as whole eggs (including the yolk) because there is a full detailed article that I want you to read ( http://mshuebrook.mikegeary1.hop.clickbank.net/?pid=155&tid=EGG )

But I will go over a few key points right now just to ease your mind. Did you know that the yolk contains more nutrients, vitamins, anti-oxidants and even minerals than egg whites? Well it does! Even the protein in the whites isn’t as high quality in terms of bioavailability without the amino acid profile of the yolk that complements the amino acid profile of the whites.

Now a question that always arises is “will eating egg yolks sky rocket my cholesterol?” No, the cholesterol in eggs is not bad for you… egg yolks will surprisingly raise your GOOD CHOLESTEROL more than your BAD CHOLESTEROL, thus causing your overall cholesterol to be healthier.

Bottom line… whole eggs are healthier than egg whites. It’s not even a close comparison. The food label companies are just taking advantage of your desire to eat healthy.

Example #3: Product claiming to be “Better than peanut butter”

My fitness buddies and I have joked about this one for years. Growing up we were taught that eating peanut butter is good for you… and yes it is very good for you. The problem is that we were tricked into buying these fancy-colorful versions of peanut butter (a.k.a. highly processed peanut butter).

Next time you’re at the store I want you to compare the ingredients of the “healthier than peanut butter” version and the natural organic peanut butter. You will see that the natural peanut butter will only have a few ingredients (peanuts salt and water) while the other version will be filled with a bunch of processed crap. First of all, they strip all of the natural healthy fats out of the peanuts so that it is a “low fat” product. They have just taken away one of the healthiest parts of the peanut butter… the appetite satisfying healthy fats that you need to control cravings and manage more stable blood sugar levels in your body.

Just to be funny they also added a few types of sugars and starches into the mix. In case you didn’t know that will boost your insulin levels almost automatically and leave you in a state of fat loss confusion.
